Opening types

Functional and user-friendly opening types are very important requirements that need to be considered in the design phase of your building. Reynaers window and door systems come in an extensive variety of opening possibilities suiting almost every possible need. This results in a maximal level of user-friendliness.

The opening method of a window or door needs to be adapted to both the positioning of the element in the building, and to the way in which you want to use it. This often varies for every building type and depends on the requirements of the end-user. With its extensive range of opening possibilities, Reynaers answers every requirement.

Opening types windows

Inward opening windows
  • Turn or side hung window: the window sash can be opened completely.
  • Turn & tilt window: the window can be first be opened completely and in second position, the window can be put in tilt (ventilation) position.
  • Tilt before turn window: the window can be tilt for ventilation purposes. In second position, the window can be opened completely.
  • Double casement window: consists out of two sashes. The first sash can be equipped with a side hung, turn & tilt or a tilt before turn mechanism. By unlocking the locking bolts or central locking mechanism, the second sash can be opened in side-hung position.
  • Bottom hung or tilt window: this element is equipped with either a handle or a spring latch. By operating the handle or spring latch, the window sash will move to a tilt position.
Outward opening windows
  • Turn or side hung window: the window sash can be opened to the outside. This can be done manually or by means of a spindle or by chain drives.
  • Top hung window: the window sash can be opened to the outside. The opened sash must be arrested with an opening restrictor.
  • Top hung outward projecting window: the window sash is projected to the outside, with limited opening angles.
    

 

 

  

Opening types doors

Inward / outward opening doors
  • Single door: inward or outward opening.
  • Balcony door: a turn / tilt door, with an extra sealed threshold – perfect for balconies.
  • Double door: a double door consists out of two sections with a specific opening sequence. The door is equipped with a handle and the casement is equipped with locking bolts or central locking.
  • Pivoting door: the door pivots around a central axis, allowing it to open both in and outwards.
     

  

Sliding doors
  • Sliding door: the door can be slid open using one or more railings.
  1. A monorail combines a moving part with a fixed glazed element. The glazed element is anchored directly into the outer frame profile, creating a minimalistic look. A monorail sliding element can also disappear into a wall, depending on which system you choose.
  2. A duorail integrates 2 glazed opening vents that have an identical look, resulting in an aesthetic sliding door.
  3. A multirail integrates extra rails in the outer frame allowing extra opening vents to be installed. This solution is very interesting to increase the possible opening area of the sliding element.
  • Lift sliding door: the sash is raised by several millimeters, before allowing the door to slide. Less effort is needed to open and close lift-sliding doors.
  • Pocket door: the sliding doors can be neatly stacked away inside the wall, disappearing from view.
  • Thermofront: the door can be put in a tilt-stand for ventilation. It can also be slid open to obtain a complete opening.

Sliding doors can also be configured with a 90° corner solution (without a corner profile).

Folding doors
  • A folding door system creates the ultimate opening area. In this system, the glazed elements are folded to the in -or outside of a wall by use of a rail. Up to 8 doors can be integrated into one position.
